The remark from a friend, "Whatever you touch you make beautiful," has resonated deeply with me over the years. It reflects my belief that adding beauty to the world, no matter how small, is inherently valuable.
I believe that the effort spent in bringing joy to someone's life, even if it's just putting a smile on their face is always worthwhile. When people look at my cakes, they see not only a delicious work of art but the genuine love and passion I pour into every detail.
My true happiness is found in the act of crafting beauty with my own hands, a process that allows me to lose myself entirely in the moment.
The DESIGN Experience
How did it all begin?
I was born in the heart of the beautiful Moselle region, in Trier, the Roman Imperial seat, which the Romans had identified as the most beautiful place north of the Alps.
Growing up in a German-Canadian family known for their vibrant gatherings, I learned early on the art of setting a beautiful table and creating delicious foods. My grandmother’s and mother’s culinary skills and our rich family recipes, sparked my passion for baking.
With a PhD in art history and a keen eye for design, I combine my love for aesthetics with traditional baking to create high-quality and unique cake masterpieces.
I always stay updated with the latest trends in the cake design world. Whether its exploring new styles, studying innovative techniques with the world’s most famous cake artists, or exchanging with my peer group of cake designers all over the globe, all of this enriches my creativity and is an endless source of inspiration.
My designs are often inspired by nature’s materials, be it the sturdy solidity of stone, the organic warmth of wood, or the delicate beauty of flowers.
For over decade now I have been living in Switzerland, with its breathtaking mountains, lakes and forests. Here, I channel my background and creativity into crafting exquisite culinary works of art for you.
We would like to express our sincere satisfaction with the wedding cake baked by Milly Zirker Cake Design. The cake was not only beautiful to look at, but also tasted excellent and made our wedding day even more special. The attention to detail and handcrafted embellishments were impressive. The taste of the cake was simply delicious. The different flavors harmonized perfectly and delighted our guests. We would like to thank Milly for her wonderful work.
